The primary goal of the Pioneer Evangelism method consists of training lay evangelists to go into areas where there are no churches (pioneer areas), winning souls to Christ, and starting new works. Wade and Barbara Akins started Pioneer Evangelism and are missionaries for the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.
